30 jobs for Galway as mobile content firm Synchronoss accelerates hiring

Galway is to get 30 new jobs as mobile content management solutions player Syncrhonoss enters Phase II of its hiring plan for its R&D and operations centre in the city.

The positions will be in the areas of research and development, quality assurance and service delivery. The centre and the new positions are supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland. Synchronoss first established its Research and Development (R&D) and Operations centrein Galway in 2010.

“The Irish economy is in transition, and a key part of the Government’s plan is to support the innovative companies like Synchronoss who will drive and accelerate this transition,” Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD said.

“This week in Silicon Valley and the western USA I am meeting some of the world’s leading innovative tech companies who clearly recognise Ireland’s success in this area. Today’s announcement that it is recruiting 30 additional people in its centre for research and development for mobile devices in Galway is a great example of the cutting edge activities being carried out in Ireland.”

Empowering the connected consumer

Synchronoss’ technology allows its customers to connect, synchronise and activate connected devices and services that empower enterprises and consumers to live in a connected world.

“The market for connected devices and cloud solutions is exploding and our business must keep pace with industry dynamics,” Stephen G. Waldis, founder, chairman and CEO of Synchronoss explained.

“Our R&D efforts are critical to our success and we need to continue hiring innovative and creative minds across the globe,” Waldis added.
